How to get started- a guide for newcomers

How does one get started on a forum roleplay like this one?

These are rules for fighting other player characters- not important right away, but they will be.

Once you looked through the rules, understood and accepted them, its time to make a character.
When making a character, you´ve got two choices:
Making a canon character or one you thought up.
Generally its not advised for newcomers to start with a canon, as it requires you to play the character like he or she would be like- not like you want them to be.
With a character of your own, generally called an OC, or Original Character, you don´t have that boundary. (See what i did there?)

Making a character involves creating a character sheet, changing the name of your account to that of your character and getting approved- everything else is optional.
To make a character sheet, copy and paste this template:

into a new topic and fill it out with the details of your character.
This step is extremely important as it shows us basically everything we need to know about your character, so be descriptive and do your best- and then some. Once you´ve filled in all the blanks, mark the topic as complete or notify us that we should look at it, then we will vote on the sheet- judging it approved or disapproved.

If you´re approved, you can join the action at any point in the story you like, following the rules.

If you´re disapproved, your sheet is locked and you cannot edit it- you can however copy and paste it to post it again, with modifications made- you can then be voted on again and if you`ve done it right, you´ll be approved.
