Although the site never had problems with godmoding characters in the past, we´ve decided on a few simple rules to make sure everyone can play fair and battles can be fun.
- What is godmoding, anyway? -
The term "godmoding" in a forum RPG means any sort of unfair moves or cheating, though in essence it means undefeatable OCs or OCs that do not fight fair. In other words, they cannot die. The term comes from the "Godmode" cheat that appears in many games which gives you invulverability.
- What we do in case a character godmodes -
In case the player pulls something off that is completely ridiculous, makes no sense, is unfair to the other player or downright wouldn´t work, we contact the said player and tell him what he did wrong, what he can do instead and that he should try to keep it fair, if possible. Such actions can be leaving as soon as the tide of battle turns against their favor, dodging hits forever (Thats also a direct fighting rule offense), surviving impossible hits (Such as being impaled by a large object, etc.) or instantly hitting the other player by discribing that they`ve been hit in any way shape or form.
Should the other player not respond or if they are in disagreement with the admins and mods, the admins and mods have the right to edit his or her post. Depending on the type of offense he commited and the cirumstances, the consequences can be severe, down to letting the character die from a wound he sustained.
Additonally, if two players are in disagreement with each other about a fight, the mods can be consulted and they will respond in kind, deciding the battle in a fair manner.
- Exceptions -
Keep in mind that some characters are immortal by canon, such as Hazama, Nu-13, Ragna (to some extent) and Hakumen. Filing a complaint against them because they do not die is like saying you want to return the barbecue grill you bought because it doesn´t bake your pizza properly. However, these characters also need to fight fair, despite having some advantages.
Remember to play fair. You have a chance, but your opponent also has a chance.
If we play fair, we can all have fun together.
